Nataliya Volodymyrivna Kolomiets

Born 2 May 1976 in Vorzel’, Kyiv Oblast. Philologist, assistant lecturer, head of the Chinese section at the Chinese, Korean and Japanese languages department in Institute of Philology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Sinologist, Chinese language lecturer and translator/interpreter.

In 1998 graduated from the Oriental Studies department of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a major “Oriental and European language”. During 1999-2000 was on a traineeship in China. During 2000-2002 had worked as an assistant at Turkic languages center of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Provides normative courses “Chinese language” for the first and second year students, “Chinese culture and literature” for the third and fourth year students, “Chinese lexicology” for the third year students. Since September 2002 has been working as an assistant lecturer at the department of Chinese, Korean and Japanese languages. Is an advisor for the yearly essays and thesises. Scientific interests are connected with Chinese literature (Classical poetry), theoretical and practical translation. Organizes the methodological work of the Japanese section staff. One of the organizers and members of the Chinese literature club. Along with other department staff takes part in organization and conducting the all-Ukrainian Chinese language competition and also the Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK). Is one of the lexicographers of “Chinese-Ukrainian Dictionary”.
